Recently, a thrilling yet heartwarming rescue unfolded in Dacheng Village, Nan Zhiqiu Town: A 60-plus-year-old man accidentally slipped and fell into a deep irrigation canal. With the water dangerously deep and the elderly man unable to swim, his life was in grave danger. Just as the situation turned critical, a passing villager spotted the emergency and immediately shouted for help. Hearing the cries, Li Yongtao, an employee of our group who was working nearby along with other villagers, sprang into action without hesitation, racing toward the canal. Together, the three men swiftly grabbed nearby ropes and wooden poles, coordinating seamlessly in the chilly water to pull the elderly man to safety—demonstrating remarkable courage and a steadfast commitment to helping others in times of need.
