On April 15, Zhang Fucheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the university, along with Chi Guiyou, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of the Hebei Provincial Metallurgical Industry Association and a Senior Engineer, visited Aosen Special Steel to provide guidance. They held a special seminar focused on technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the steel sector. Wang Zhe, General Manager of Aosen Special Steel, along with Deputy General Manager Cui Juan, Deputy Director of the Ironmaking Plant Li Yongjun, and Yin Junfeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Technology Center, participated in the discussion, delving into strategies for the company’s high-quality development.

Wang Zhe first extended a warm welcome to Academician Zhang Fucheng and his delegation, systematically outlining Aosen Special Steel’s remarkable achievements in recent years as it pursues high-quality development. He emphasized that the company adheres to its transformation and upgrading strategy of "shifting from general to superior, and then from superior to specialized," while continuously strengthening collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research. Thanks to these efforts, Aosen has steadily refined its smart factory infrastructure, gaining significant advantages in areas such as process optimization, product quality enhancement, and digital management—lessons that now serve as a model for the regional steel industry’s own transformation and upgrade. Wang expressed hope that Zhang Fucheng’s team could provide valuable insights into Aosen Special Steel’s operations and production, offering well-informed guidance for the company’s future growth.

Drawing on the current state of the steel industry, Chi Guiyou emphasized that the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is reshaping the global economic landscape. He advised Ausent Steel to vigorously promote the deep integration of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies with green, low-carbon solutions, adopting a forward-looking approach to corporate development from the perspective of a sustainable growth strategy. This includes accelerating the company’s transition toward high-end, intelligent, and eco-friendly operations, while implementing a differentiated product development strategy to continuously strengthen its core competitiveness.

Zhang Fucheng highly praised Aosen Special Steel's innovative practices in transformation and upgrading, highlighting his team’s development of key technologies specifically tailored for the metallurgical industry. He emphasized that, in response to current industry demands, focusing on breakthroughs in efficient smelting processes and exploring pathways to replace traditional raw materials with new energy sources can not only significantly reduce energy consumption during production but also enhance process stability—making these efforts a vital model for driving technological innovation across the sector. On the practical application front, Zhang Fucheng suggested that Aosen Special Steel should prioritize integrating cutting-edge technologies that align seamlessly with the company’s existing smart manufacturing systems. By establishing deep, collaborative partnerships among industry, academia, and research institutions, the company can build robust technological barriers, ultimately strengthening its market competitiveness and solidifying its leadership position in the industry.
This exchange meeting has injected new momentum into Ausent Steel's high-quality development. Moving forward, Ausent Steel will fully embrace expert guidance, accelerating the integrated innovation and collaborative research on key technologies. By deepening the "industry-academia-research-application" model of co-innovation, the company will focus on strengthening its core competitiveness in areas such as green metallurgy and intelligent manufacturing, striving to forge a new path of high-quality development that is "high-end, smart, and eco-friendly."
